With over ninety years of combined experience, the ministry of Soul's Harbor Church is equipped for the hour in which we live. Their experience ranges from pastoring to evangelism to jail ministry to nursing home ministry to youth ministry. God has called these men to proclaim His Word during these last days:
With over 25 years of ministering experience, Reverend Darren Thrasher has been the Pastor of Soul's Harbor Church since August of 2007. Before that, he fulfilled many roles around the church including Youth Leader, Evangelist, Daughter-Work Pastor, Musician, among others.
For over twenty years, Reverend Randy Butler has been preaching at Soul's Harbor Church when called upon. Until recent health issues, he had also spent over ten years heavily involved in our Jail Ministry.
Reverend Dean Vanslyke has been in the ministry for over fifty years. Many of those as Pastor of a church in Bloomfield, Indiana. Following his retirement, he has started to travel intermittently preaching for local churches as well as at Soul's Harbor. He also is very instrumental in our private school.
Brother Carson Thrasher is a young, lay minister in Soul's Harbor Church. He assists with leading multiple services each week as well as leading our youth group.
Our Sunday School staff is a group of God-minded individuals who are devoted to carrying out the vision of the church and their pastor. Each of these individuals are driven by a burden for the children in which they are teaching.
Sister Beth Bohnert has been teaching the 3-6 year old class for over ten years. She primarily teaches short stories from the Bible to help the children in their knowledge of God's Word.
For nearly five years, Sister Amy Strader has been teaching the 7-9 year old class. Her focus is to enhance the knowledge of the children to become more familiar with the details of many of the stories from God's Word.
For over ten years, Sister Angela Campbell has been teaching the 10-12 year old class. Her primary focus is to take the lessons learned in the earlier classes and apply them to the basics of the doctrines of God's Word.
For over three years, Brother Carson Thrasher has been teaching the 13-18 year old class. His primary focus is to teach doctrine and lessons that will help teenagers for their growth in God.
Our clerical leaders are the individuals who play a vital role in making the church look good. Whether that be in finance, event planning, food preparation, cleaning, etc. These ladies are working behind the scenes at the majority of the happenings of Soul's Harbor Church:
Sister Kim Thrasher is not your typical Pastor's Wife. She has her hands involved in many of the activities around the church including making flyers for events, clerical work in the school, singing, decorating, etc.
For over twenty years, Sister Channah Thrasher has been the church secretary. She has taken her experience working for H&R Block and used it to help the church be financially stable. During her time as secretary, the church has become debt free.
For over twenty years, Sister Lorinda Vanhorn has been the Ladies Auxiliary Leader at Soul's Harbor. We have multiple events throughout the year that require food preparation necessary to accommodate over 200 people. Her group is also responsible for keeping the church and fellowship hall clean.
Our Ladies Team Leaders are directed under Sister Lorinda Vanhorn. Each month, we have a rotation for which group cleans our fellowship hall and which group cleans our church building. In the fall and winter months, we have weekly food and fellowship which also follows a rotating schedule. These are the ladies that lead each of our four teams.
Other groups that get less than deserved recognition are our Hospitality Group and our Church Maintenance Group.
For over ten years, Brother Kevin Phillippe has been our Hospitality Director. He schedules individuals and couples to provide hosting and ushering services for each of our church services.
He has also spent time assisting Reverend Randy Butler in our Jail Ministry.
As a professional lawn care provider, Brother Bryan Thrasher has spent over twenty years grooming the church property. From mowing to weed trimming to replacing lightbulbs, he has his fingerprints all over the place.
He also leads our Sunday Morning service.
